Safe to change list ids?

I've got a few lists I'd like to consolidate. Looks like opens and clicks are stored strictly by subscriber id so no issues there. I realize list-level reporting will be off, which is fine as I only use campaign-level reporting. Any reason not to consolidate lists (by updating list ids in subscribers table directly)?
